Meredith Moderi
Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate
Supervised by Misty Solt, Ph.D, LPC-S, RPT-S
I’m so glad you’ve found your way to Poppy Counseling. As a therapist, I invite you to bring your full, authentic self into this space. Therapy is built on openness, collaboration, and vulnerability—for both of us.
I grew up in a close-knit family and was often the quiet, observant kid who loved understanding people. That curiosity led me from an international boarding school in England to mental health research at Auburn, and eventually to a master’s in counseling—each step deepening my passion for connection and healing.
Outside the office, I’m usually with my dog Poppy (an aspiring therapy dog), at a workout class, or exploring new restaurants. I love sunny 75° days, iced lattes, and quality time with people I care about.

My clinical approach is integrative, grounded in a developmentally sensitive, brain-based framework that incorporates polyvagal theory to help clients better understand their nervous system and develop emotional regulation skills. I draw from cognitive behavioral therapy to support meaningful, practical change. I prioritize building strong therapeutic rapport, as I recognize that a sense of safety and connection is foundational for healing. Through a compassionate and attuned approach, I help clients gain insight into their behaviors by exploring how past experiences, autonomic nervous system states, and the narrative of ourselves influence emotional and behavioral responses. By incorporating nervous system regulation strategies, I guide clients in developing and refining adaptive coping skills that promote a shift from dysregulation to a state of safety and connection. My goal is to empower clients to integrate these skills and awareness into their daily lives, fostering resilience, self-awareness, and nervous system flexibility as they confidently launch back into their world.
