An LPC-Associate is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate, meaning we have completed a master’s degree in counseling, completed a practicum and internship to gain 280 direct clinical hours, and are working under the supervision of an experienced, fully licensed LPC-S (Supervisor) to gain the required 3,000 clinical hours for full licensure.

While we’d love to see you in person, we do offer virtual sessions for individuals and parents. However, due to the interactive nature of play therapy, we provide those services in person only.

Poppy Counseling is unable to provide threat assessment, medical advice or prescriptions, psychological testing, school recommendation letters, court-mandated counseling, letters for ESA or disability, or legal testimony or involvement.

Per Texas ethical guidelines for therapists, your information is kept confidential with a few exceptions. These include:

1. Court subpoena of records

2. Client is deemed an immediate harm to self or another

3. Counselor is made aware of child abuse, elder abuse, or abuse of person with disabilities (mandated reporting)

• Clinicians are required to retain client records for 7 years, or 5 years after a former child client has turned 18. Requests must include the client’s full name, date of birth, and the specific records requested. Administrative charges may apply. Please email your therapist directly.
